When you create new users, there are six options from which you can select:
1. MS Exchange: Gives a user an email address and a mailbox on the Exchange server.
With a mailbox, you can log into your hosted desktop and use MS Outlook to send and receive email messages, manage contacts, calendars, tasks, etc. Or, you could use Outlook Web Access (OWA) from a local computer to do the same.
An MS Exchange user can be set up one of two ways:
• With MS Outlook + Outlook Web Access (OWA), or
• With Only Outlook Web Access (OWA).
If desired for the user, you can also enable a mobility service for BlackBerry, ActiveSync, or GoodLink.
2. External Contact: This type of user is commonly used for consultants. This user does have an email address, but does not have a mailbox on the Exchange server, i.e. this user cannot use MS Outlook or OWA.
3. SharePoint: You need to create this type of user prior to creating a SharePoint site. This user has an email address that is used to log into SharePoint. There is no mailbox for this user on the Exchange server, i.e. this user cannot use Outlook or OWA.
4. CRM: Gives a user the ability to use Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a Customer Relationship Management software developed by Microsoft. It is available to the user over the Web, or with an Outlook connector. .
5. Hosted Desktop: This option gives the user a complete remote desktop. It is offered with three different Office software packages.
6. Administrator: This user has administrative rights to manage the users, applications and services of the hosted environment. The user has an email address that is used to log into the administrative control panel. There is no mailbox for this user on the Exchange server, i.e. this user cannot use Outlook or OWA.
Note: On the User List page, icons are displayed that summarize the services and rights for each user.
